An oxy park is a high-density green space designed to improve air quality, reduce urban heat, and restore local ecosystems through intensive native tree plantation. Such parks are increasingly used in cities worldwide as a response to climate stress, declining green cover, and rising pollution.
Building on this concept, the Dawoodi Bohras are developing Oxy Parks as a structured global green initiative focused on creating dense micro-forests with long-term ecological and social value. The initiative moves beyond symbolic tree planting and embeds every sapling within a system of care, accountability, and measurable impact.
The initiative draws inspiration from Prophetic teachings on environmental conservation and responsibility toward future generations. Oxy Parks translate these values into direct climate action by expanding green cover, lowering urban heat, improving air quality, and supporting biodiversity. Each tree represents life sustained, a relationship honoured, and a measurable environmental contribution.
The first Oxy Park stands in Nagpur as a joint initiative of Project Rise and Burhani Foundation. Spread across one acre, the park hosts over five thousand native trees and supports birds, insects, and small wildlife native to the region.
