PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy constitutes an integral part of the Terms and Conditions governing the use of the Project Rise website (the "Site"). It describes how the Site collects, uses, and protects your personal data ("Personal Data"), and the purposes for which such data may be used. This policy applies to all information obtained through your use of the Site, regardless of where you are located in the world. It does not apply to third-party websites that the Site may link to. Please review the privacy practices of those sites independently, as the Owner bears no responsibility for them.

A Note for International Visitors

Project Rise is a global philanthropic initiative of the Dawoodi Bohra community, accessible to visitors from across the world. This Site is owned and managed from India. Accordingly, this Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). If you are accessing the Site from outside India — including from the European Union, the United Kingdom, or the United States — you acknowledge that your data may be transferred to, stored, and processed in India and other countries in which Project Rise or its service providers operate.

1. How We Collect Personal Data

Personal Data is collected from you in various ways when you interact with the Site. This may include data you voluntarily provide by signing up for newsletters, registering for programmes, submitting contact forms, or participating in initiatives featured on the Site. By providing your Personal Data, you consent to the Site's use of it as described in this policy, and you agree that the Site may share this information with related entities or third-party service providers — whether in India or abroad — for the purposes of data processing, storage, and service delivery. You also consent to the retention of your Personal Data for as long as is reasonably necessary.

Where required by applicable law, we will seek your explicit consent before collecting or using your Personal Data for specific purposes. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us using the details provided at the end of this policy.

2. Minors

No person under the age of 18 — or such other age as constitutes a minor in their country of residence — may submit Personal Data through the Site without the prior formal consent of their legal representative. Personal Data submitted by a minor without such consent will be deleted from our records as promptly as possible upon discovery. We encourage parents and guardians to supervise the online activity of those in their care.

3. Security of Your Data

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your Personal Data against unauthorised access, accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, or disclosure. While we make every reasonable effort to secure your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We encourage you to take reasonable precautions when sharing information online.

4. Disclosure of Personal Data

The Site may disclose Personal Data when required to do so by law, regulation, court order, or other governmental or legal authority, or when we reasonably believe that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Site, its personnel, related entities, or the public. Any such disclosure will be made in good faith and to the minimum extent required. We do not sell your Personal Data to third parties.

5. Cross-Border Data Transfers

As a global initiative with visitors and operations spanning multiple countries, Personal Data collected through the Site may be transferred to and stored or processed in countries outside your country of residence — including India, where the Site is managed. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the Site, you consent to such transfers. We take reasonable steps to ensure that any international transfer of Personal Data is conducted in accordance with applicable law and with appropriate safeguards in place.

6. Cookies

The Site uses cookies — small text files placed on your device — to analyse how visitors use the Site and to improve your browsing experience. This information may be used to compile activity reports and facilitate additional services. If you do not wish to receive cookies, you may configure your web browser to decline them, though doing so may affect certain features of the Site. Where required by applicable law, we will seek your consent before placing non-essential cookies.

7. Log Files

The Site maintains server log files that record information about user activity, including IP addresses, browser types and versions, pages visited, and entry and exit paths. Log data helps us diagnose technical issues, administer the Site, and personalise your experience. Log files are stored securely and are not shared with third parties except as described in this policy or as required by law.

8. Analytics and Tracking Services

The Site uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC. Google Analytics uses cookies to help us understand how visitors interact with the Site. Information generated — including your IP address — may be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers that may be located outside your country of residence. Google may share this information with third parties where required by law or where those parties process data on Google's behalf. By using the Site, you consent to data processing by Google in the manner described above.

The Site may also use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with our pages. By using the Site, you agree that we and Microsoft may collect and use interaction data to improve our services. Neither Google nor Microsoft will associate your IP address with any other data held by them in connection with this Site.

9. Email Communications and Web Beacons

When we send you email communications, we may include a web beacon — a small transparent image — to help us understand how many recipients open our messages and which links they follow. Web beacons can be declined by disabling HTML images in your email client. You may opt out of all email communications from us at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions included in each email.

10. Your Rights

Depending on the laws of your country or region, you may have certain rights in relation to the Personal Data we hold about you, including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your data, and the right to object to or restrict certain types of processing. Residents of India may exercise their rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Visitors from the European Union or European Economic Area may have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

To exercise any of your rights, please write to us using the contact details provided below. We will endeavour to respond to all legitimate requests within a reasonable timeframe. Please note that exercising certain rights may affect your ability to use specific features of the Site.

11. Amendments to This Policy

By using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the terms of this Privacy Policy and consent to our use of your data for the purposes described herein. This policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in law, our practices, or our services. Any changes will be posted on this page and will take effect upon posting. We encourage you to check this page periodically. Continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

By clicking "Subscribe" — or any equivalent action that results in you sending us Personal Data — you confirm your consent. You may withdraw this consent at any time by clicking "Unsubscribe" in any email you receive, or by contacting us directly. We do not share subscriber information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
