SUPPORT IN WAKE OF CYCLONE CHIDO IN MAYOTTE
Cyclone Chido, a Category 4 storm, brought severe destruction to Mayotte — flattening homes, disrupting transport, and creating acute shortages of food and water. Project Rise volunteers mobilised quickly to deliver essential food supplies to affected households. The support helped families meet basic needs during the most critical days following the disaster.
RECLAIMING URBAN SPACES IN KARACHI
Project Rise volunteers restored the Karachi Development Authority Roundabout in North Nazimabad, a high-traffic public space that had deteriorated over time. Volunteers cleared waste, repaired fencing and broken curbs, repainted structures, and beautified the central island with seasonal greenery. The site is now maintained by local community members, turning a neglected junction into a cleaner and more welcoming space.
CARING FOR NATURAL SPACES IN SWEDEN
In Sweden, community members joined the global movement through a clean-up initiative focused on a local forest. Volunteers of all ages gathered to pick up litter, contributing to the health and beauty of a cherished natural landscape.
RESTORING LAND, REVIVING LIFE: BINGLEY NORTH BOG
Under Project Rise, the Dawoodi Bohra community has partnered with the Bradford Council’s Countryside Service and the Aire Rivers Trust to launch a major restoration project at Bingley North Bog — a 10,000-year-old bog regarded as one of the Bradford district’s most precious natural sites.
SUPPORT FOR LOS ANGELES WILDFIRE VICTIMS
Wildfires in Los Angeles County forced thousands from their homes and strained frontline responders. Volunteers from the Los Angeles, Orange County, and Inland Empire communities joined local partners to distribute meals, essential goods, and hygiene supplies to evacuees and first responders.
As recovery efforts continued, volunteers also supported the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank by packing fresh produce for households affected by the fires and contributing to broader hunger-relief initiatives.
CRAFTING FOR CONSERVATION
Children in Vancouver, Mississauga, and Montreal took on a creative conservation project, building bird feeders from recycled containers, milk cartons, and LEGO bricks to support local birdlife.
TOGETHER FOR A GREENER AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND
In partnership with local councils and environmental groups, volunteers restored parks and green spaces across the country. On World Environment Day, the community joined the City of Ryde Council to plant 900 native trees. Children, youth, and families worked side-by-side, supporting efforts to expand canopy cover and enhance local biodiversity.
