We are passionate, driven people across the world who want to do their bit. We engage, partner and show up for volunteering to make a difference.
This initiative was formally established in 2018, to bring together the timeless values of the Dawoodi Bohra community's spirit of volunteerism and service under one umbrella.
We firmly believe that no one should be marginalised or left behind, which is why we focus on issues that lie at the heart of human development: health and education, child welfare, nutrition, water access, and environmental protection.
Through strategic partnerships with local authorities, civil society, and grassroots networks, our global network of volunteers strive to address complex challenges with community-led solutions that build local capacity and foster sustainable outcomes.
Our Principles
At Project Rise, our work is guided by principles that reflect humility, inclusivity, and a deep respect for the people and communities we serve.
Rooted in faith, our volunteers recognise their shared responsibility to care for humanity and the planet. Standing together with communities worldwide, we are committed to addressing the climate crisis and advancing sustainable development for the well-being of all.
We believe lasting change comes from working with people. Within our communities, we encourage participation at every level, drawing on the diverse strengths of individuals and partners. Beyond this, we actively listen to experts and local voices—welcoming perspectives that challenge us and help us grow.
Education is at the core of Project Rise’s mission, and we believe that transformative change begins at the grassroots. We work to inculcate the values of humanity and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, from our children to the communities we serve.
At the heart of all we do is a deep compassion for our shared humanity. We embrace diversity and strive to embody understanding, kindness, and respect—working toward a more inclusive, just, and harmonious world.
We believe in the power of reflection and constructive skepticism. We continually ask: Is change happening as we hoped? Why or why not? What can we do better? This cycle of learning and adapting keeps us responsive, effective, and rooted in our mission.
Philosophy
The philosophical bedrock of Project Rise is derived from the teachings of Prophet Mohammed SAW, who stated,
“All of Creation is in need of Allah’s sustenance. The most beloved of all Creation to Him is the one who proves to be the most beneficial to His Creation.”
Following this prophetic tradition, His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, the 53rd al-Dai al-Mutlaq and leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community, continuously emphasises the importance of service to humanity. He teaches that both those who receive aid and those who provide it are elevated, a powerful philosophy guides Dawoodi Bohras throughout the world in an effort to build a more just and inclusive world.
Our Mission
We work together with our partners and their communities to towards a vision to create a world where every person has the means and opportunity to live a healthy, productive, and self-reliant life.
Through a multifaceted and sustainable development approach, we strive to empower local communities and individuals to rise above adversity, irrespective of their origin, faith or background.
